Patricia Easteal is an author, advocate, academic and activist.
Patricia has contributed significantly, through her research, teaching and community service, to awareness and understanding of violence against women, discrimination, harassment and barriers to justice. Her achievements in these areas have been recognised by appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia and as Australian of the Year for the Australian Capital Territory.
She is an Emeritus Professor at the School of Law and Justice at the University of Canberra. Professor Easteal has published 18 books and over 180 journal articles and book chapters. Her work focuses on violence against women, discrimination, and access to justice for minority groups.
Legal Light Bulbs, a consultancy founded by Professor Easteal, provides training and resources on violence against women and other legal issues. The consultancy offers educational resources and training programs on a variety of topics, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and workplace bullying. Legal Light Bulbs also offers expert court reports on the impact of violence against women.
When not researching and writing, Patricia enjoys power walking, meditation, yoga, creative cookery, reading, gardening and connecting with family and friends. Dancing With Demons is her first novel.
